Quote: It was announced today that possibly the biggest poker room currently located on the International poker network, Sportingbet / Paradise Poker, will be re-locating to the Ongame poker network during the second half of 2011. With IPN Sportingbet (their main poker brand is the famous Paradise Poker which they bought few years back) had an agreement where they were able to allow players not-accepted by the IPN network to play on the Entraction network. This agreement will continue also once they move the majority of their players to the Ongame poker network. One big part of the problem with Paradise Poker leaving the network is that not only will they take big chunk of the networks liquidity with them but they will also take massive amount of the casual poker players with them. And as we all known the grinders and pros need the casual players to play. After the departure of SportingBet the network will still be home to several major sports betting brands. However, it is worth noticing that two of them, Bet-At-Home and BetClic are owned by the same company that owns also for an example EverestPoker and Expekt.

It wouldn't be the world's biggest surprise if they at some point decided to combine the player pools from all of their brands. So even if the IPN network survives from the departure of Paradise Poker they might have really tough times ahead.

Such a shame if the network dies, I used to play there a bit and while they don't have the best software there was something in that made people tilt ALOT. I play mainly fixed limit so it was always fun people went completely nuts with. hands, especially because there doesn't seem to be a cap with two players. Paradise Poker is NOT leaving the IPN.

Although Ongame clearly stated in their news release that Paradise Poker will remain on GTECH G2's IPN network, and that Ongame will be powering a second poker room for Sportingbet, some news outlets reported the story in a misleading way. After their inaccurate report, Gambling Intelligence issued this retraction later today: Sportingbet/GTECH G2 relationship secure International Poker Network (IPN) operator GTECH G2 has denied reports that Sportingbet plc is to leave the network to join Ongame.

Ongame announced this morning that Sportingbet will join its global poker network in the second half of this year. When asked by Gaming Intelligence whether the move applied to all ParadisePoker operations, a spokesperson for Ongame implied this to be the case, with the exception of grey markets which the spokesperson said would presumably continue to be served by Entraction. However, Ongame is in fact launching a second skin for Sportingbet, which continues to be part of the IPN. GTECH G2 confirmed this afternoon to Gaming Intelligence that it continues to serve as the poker provider for Paradise Poker.

William Scott, Vice President GTECH G2, said: “Sportingbet is and continues to be a valued client of GTECH G2 and the IPN. We will continue to work with them and all the members of the IPN to provide the ultimate poker experience for players.
