I've had my CPX-1 for over a year and a half, and it's been an up and down hill battle. My first problem started with FTE's so I called the company and ended up taking a road trip to the factory where I spoke with Don Pruitt who is no longer there. He polished up the ramp and test fired it with no problems, and gave me a magazine for my troubles.
Some time later, back at the range, I made the God awful mistake of putting reloaded ammo thru the thing and ended up locking the slide, unable to eject the spent shell, thus sending it to the factory. They fixed and sent the CPX-1 back with a new slide, and another mag mind you. And then the rear sight started flying off. Called them about it and they sent me new rear sights, same thing. Then last week called Jason, talked to him about the sight problem and was informed about using lock-tight, cool.
Did that, then at the range, it started FTE'ing with Winchester white box, which it never did. Mind you, I did put over 200 rounds on the new slide assy. It also FTE'd with Federal ammo too. Called service today, talked to Brittany, and with Jason's opinion, determined the guide rod is hosed, it had gouges galore, needs to be replace with the new and improved version, and they will send me some new rear sights. I like the gun, great for personal carry, size and amount of 9mm. I hope this FTE'ing problem is fixed, cause I am totally frustrated.
It LOVES Monarch brand 9mm. Brass, it's cheap and only Academy Sports sells it. If Academy drops Monarch, and the FTE problem ain't rectified, this gun is as useful as a paperweight. Also, I have to give SCCY's customer service a BRAVO ZULU, prompt and courteous, contrary to what I have read here.

Maybe it sucked in past, but it is great now. New Member Posts: 6 Joined: Fri Sep 28, 2012 11:56 am. In my experience SCCY customer service is great. They have always taken good care of me whenever I've contacted them. In the past, whenever I had FTE or FTC (Fail to Eject or Fail to Cycle) issues it was almost always the recoil spring assembly (the guide rod actually).
I found the old style guide rods chewed up quickly and caused me issues (including 3 cracked slides). A new recoil spring assy took care of these issues. There's a new model recoil spring assy with a brass washer on the front end of the guide rod instead of the steel one. The brass washer is easily identified as it's brass colored instead of the black steel washer. The brass washer doesn't chew up my guide rod at all. If you have FTE or FTC issues just call SCCY for a new recoil spring assy. Well, let's hope the new guide rod assy.

I failed to mention in my post that the real reason I drove down to the factory the first time. I bought the gun at the Jax gun show at the fairgrounds. Really wanting to see it in action, I went to my gun club, loaded up the 2 mags, and within 50 rounds or so, the flippin' safety broke!! Talk about being pissed! But Don at that time there, took care of it, removed the safety, making it basically a 1st gen.
